Darlene Casias began her career working for a bank in San Antonio, TX. After several years, she moved to Los Angeles, CA to further her education. She took a position at a furniture dealership to help fund her education costs while working part time. With the experience she gained from working with designers and other sales people, she took on the challenge of becoming a sales person and earning the title of top sales person in her industry. A few years later, Darlene returned to San Antonio and was offered a job with a friend that had opened up a furniture dealership that did business with the federal government. Having so much success in the furniture industry, Darlene struck out on her own and opened up her own furniture dealership.
When Darlene Casias started DC Interiors in 2004, she ran it out of the second floor in her house with one other employee. Since then, she has seen her company grow with offices that cater to the federal government, state and local municipalities, health care, higher education, and commercial markets. She has opened a working showroom that not only provides valuable and needed workspace for her growing staff, but also showcases the very products she sells to her customers. In 2011, she opened up another office in Virginia that services the entire east coast. Being a family business, Darlene has employed many family members to help run the day-to-day operations of the business, from office manager to factory-trained installers and other administrative positions, with much success.
In 2009, DC Interiors was awarded the Administrator’s Award for Excellence by the U.S. Small Business Administration for its outstanding contribution and service to the nation in satisfying the needs of the federal procurement system, as well as an achievement award from the 12th Contracting Squadron at Randolph Air Force Base, presented by the San Antonio Small Business Opportunity Council. In 2010, DC Interiors was awarded a 5 year, $40 million IDIQ contract for Fort Campbell, KY.
With its growing reputation and clientele, DC Interiors is moving forward and ready to meet any challenges that come its way.
